Lesson Booking

Private lessons are open to kids and adults of all ages and skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced players. Lessons are available for individuals or groups of up to 6 students.

Students are expected to bring their own racquet and water to the tennis lesson and come dressed in athletic clothing with athletic shoes.

If you are in need of equipment, we recommend the tennis brand Yonex, available at Tad’s Sporting Goods – located at 70th and Granville. The staff at Tad’s are knowledgeable and will be able to provide you with the right recommendations for racquets and any other gear that you might need. They also have the best selection of used tennis racquets in the city.  All students of Summer Smash Tennis receive a discount at Tad’s Sporting Goods.

Private tennis lessons are offered in partnership with the City of Vancouver.  Booking private lessons requires you to complete payment through the City of Vancouver’s ActiveNet website before you confirm your booking time here through Summer Smash Tennis.

All payments are processed through the City of Vancouver ActiveNet portal. Click the price in the table above to go directly to the correct link. After paying, return here to book your lesson time and select number of attendees. Please note that it will show $0 on the booking checkout since payment is completed separately on ActiveNet.

You will need to create an ActiveNet account if you do not already have one to complete payment.

Please upload the receipt you receive after completing payment on the City of Vancouver ActiveNet website. Save this receipt as a PDF or screenshot after purchasing, make sure the receipt number and total lessons purchased is clearly visible – you’ll need to upload it each time you book an individual lesson.

You can access receipts online via your ActiveNet account.

Yes, one person fills out the form as the primary booker. Please include the names and emails of all other attendees in the “Names & Emails of Other Attendees” field during the final booking step.

Please email info@summersmashtennis.ca to add additional players to your private lesson and we will provide a separate ActiveNet link to complete payment and confirm additional students with your coach.

No. You book one lesson at a time. Each time you want to use a lesson from your package, come back to the Private Lesson Page, find an available time slot, and go through the booking process. You’ll upload your original receipt each time to complete the booking for each lesson.

Your designated private lesson coach will contact you at least 45 minutes before the start time if a lesson is cancelled. If the coach does not contact you, the lesson is on. You can either use the cancelled lesson as a credit for rebooking or the City of Vancouver can provide a refund for the lesson as they handle payments and refunds.

Please note that lesson times, location, and coach are set in advance for each booking. We cannot accommodate cancellations or unavailability unless due to an extenuating circumstance such as illness or injury. We require 48 hours notice for any extenuating circumstances that  prevent students from being able to attend a lesson.

We unfortunately cannot accommodate custom bookings based on unexpected travel or work
